With his roots firmly in hip hop you can expect intelligent rhyming and free styling from this man.

Yeh that’s right, it’s a Cardiff invasion and another big night as ::definition welcomes not one but two of Cardiff’s finest to the ::definition vibe. This will be a first North Wales performance for Cardiff boys Dan Marshall and Warcharm, with support from residents Digital Organix and V.E.N.O.M this promises to be a heavy night all round.
With a slight change to the usual dates, ::definition will take place on FRIDAY APRIL 8th 9pm – late. £4 OTD. Powered by the Hi::def sound system.
This month’s ::definition sees the long awaited return of Southport’s finest – Erbman Hustlin’. Since his last visit over a year ago this producer/DJ has been a very busy boy. Hard at work in his studio he has been treatin us to numerous dubwise dance floor fillers. His latest release, Set An Example E.P on Jungle Xpeditions, featuring non other then ::definition resident/promoter Digital Organix is absolutely slammin’ (check the review below). With plenty more releases in the pipe line, including one of ::defHQ’s personal favorites ‘Sometimes’ this looks set to be another big year for Erbman. Expect a set packed with “dubwise rollers and amen bashers” – Unity Radio’s ‘S Man’.
Alongside Erbman willl be ::definition residents playing the usual mix of reggae/dub, hip hop, dubstep and drum and bass. Powered the mighty Hi::def sound system (earplugs will be available at the door). All this for £3, Bargain.
All this will take place UPSTAIRS @ RASCALS FRIDAY FEB 25th – 9pm-1.30am.
Salutations! Here’s a little Christmas present from ::definitionHQ. Lynx absolutely smashed it when he played ::definition Bangor in October and it was one of the highlights of 2010 for the ::def team.

::definition resident Erbrman Hustlin’ has just released his latest offering – Set An Example EP on Jungle X. This 4 track EP features another of ::definition’s residents Digital Organix. All the tracks are true to the dubwise production we have come accustomed to hearing from Erbman. The two solo tracks, Set An Example and The Learning, represent the dark side of this EP with more Junglie influences and have been getting support from the likes of 1Xtra’s Crissy Criss. Ready to Go is a full on floor filler which has been rocking dance floors across the northwest by those in the know for some time now. Juss A Dubwise Thing is a beautiful liquid roller with plenty sub which makes the EP complete. All in all another strong release and we look forward to hearing more….

The 2nd birthday is here. Yes its been 2 years already. ::definition has had many quality nights upstairs at Rascals but none more promising than the line-up for this years celebration. October 29th sees the mighty Lynx (Detail Recordings/Soul:r) in attendance with Liverpool’s glitch kings SixAM (Skanky Panky Records) + residents and Roots Collective downstairs takeover. Since the release of the absolutely massive ‘Lynx & Kemo – The Raw truth’ album, Lynx has be busy developing his exciting new project – his own record label – Detail Recordings.
Here’s what the website says: “Detail Recordings is the new forward thinking Drum and Bass record label created by Lynx. Detail is set to release ground breaking eclectic music this year, and will focus on new methods of collaboration between Lynx and a range of artists.
Detail will oversee, encourage and inspire musicians to add their own touch to tracks uploaded. By utilizing modern and traditional recording and communication techniques, Detail will build works that have a story to tell, where the process is as interesting as the end result.”
